The POMAGALSKI subsidiaries"SIGMA" in Veyrins near Grenoble and"SEMER" in Passy, Savoy, were honoured by being selected by BRITISH AIRWAYS to participate in the construction of the world's highest wheel, over the Thames River. The British Airways London Eye was built in the scope of the"new Millenium" celebration events. Put into service at the end of December 1999, it is managed by the group"TUSSAUD". This wheel is 135 meters high and a complete 360° rotation takes 30 minutes. It is British Airway's ambition to make it one of the major monuments in London (the town's fourth highest structure). SIGMA
and SEMER have manufactured the 32
panoramic cabins, each one accomodating 25 people. |
