Usually located at the top of the installation, the return terminal is characterized by:

• A yoke-mounted return bullwheel,
• A bullwheel and cable retaining system,
• Anchor points to take up tension of the ropes when carrying out maintenance operations on the bullwheel.
The metal structure of the terminal is designed for bullwheel unloading, thus making it easier forpassengers to alight from either side of the terminal. Its reduced ground occupation means that it can easily fit into all sites.

The mobile return terminal is more often located at the bottom of the installation. The transmissionmachinery is supported by a single pod, taking up less ground space, and can take 4-seater chairs.
The lorry runs along four rollers and is positioned at the head of the pod.An hydraulic system which permanently tensions the cable is built into the structure
.

The 6 x 6 return and tension terminal is mounted on a concrete pod which makes for reduced ground occupation and allows the terminal to take 6-seater chairs. The tension is ensured by an hydraulic system built into the structure.
