Comprehensive Turnkey Inspection: a demonstration of POMA’s expertise
The Group POMA recently carried out a comprehensive turnkey inspection on the “Liaison Blanc-Blanc” at the CEA Grenoble , facility that is unique in the world and lies at the heart of a centre of scientific excellence. The “Liaison Blanc-Blanc” is more than a classic funicular, it is moving miniature cleanroom, certified ISO 6, that links two the CEA’s controlled-environment areas in Grenoble, over a distance of 250 metres. Automated and designed for extreme docking precision, it functions on demand like an elevator, and moves up to 12 scientists and their ultra-sensitive microelectronic components softly at 5m/s, from one cleanroom to the other.
This installation perfectly showcases POMA’s expertise in terms of complex equipments overhaul, distinguishing the company from its competitors.
During the 6 weeks of planning, 7 weeks of work and 3 weeks of reconciliation, 40 collaborators have worked. The installation has been entirely dismantled, the cabin has been revised, the chassis was sandblasted and repainted following an inspection while the equipments (pulleys, rollers…) were controlled and refurbished. In the same time, structural inspections were carried out on site.
The success of this operation hinges on the Group’s teams working together seamlessly: POMA Mont-Blanc for electrical operations and tests, COMAG for the dismantling, the controls and the factory and on-site reassembly, POMA Savoie for the sandblasting and painting, as well as SIGMA for the cabin’s overhaul.
The infrastructure was brought back into operation on schedule, the client was fully satisfied and a successful safety audit was carried out during the works. This is a fine demonstration of the teams’ professionalism and commitment.
Thanks to the CEA for its trust, supporting an essential function for their operations.
Congratulations to all the teams involved, as well as to our partners COPRETEC, Cabinet Eric and RMC Contrôles.
