POMA offers tailor-made training services, and relies both on custom-developed digital and immersive tools and on conventional face-to-face training programmes to support its customers in the operation and maintenance of their ropeways.
The various resources and all the training facilities available allow the acquisition, certification and maintenance of all the skills necessary to ensure the safety and availability of the transport system.
The teaching methods and the training tools are designed to actively engage the learners in the process of upgrading or maintaining their skills with optimised time frames and costs.
POMA Academy is at your disposal to build the most suitable training plans together, optimised according to your teams and your objectives.

A set of educational and specialised resources, such as e-learning lessons, assessment questions and immersive 3D tools are available on the exclusive UPILOT® online platform.
On the strength of experience gained in partnership with its customers, POMA’s operational sites and the union of French operators, the resources have been tested and cover all uses of ropeway transport: ski areas, tourist sites or urban transport.
Face-to-face or distance training
The Group’s professional experts facilitate face-to-face training sessions in POMA centres or on-site. Custom-developed on targeted topics, these sessions address all the specific problems and needs of operation and maintenance. Some of the lessons are also suitable for distance training using video conferencing and via the UPILOT® platform.
In order to optimise learning, POMA provides teaching materials for sale or hire for conducting training programmes. Training benches, computer equipment, simulators to organise your training courses and all the materials are available for training in ideal conditions of safety and peace of mind.
Operation and Maintenance support
POMA contributes all its expertise for organising a ropeway Operating and Maintenance company and supporting its customers in assessing, positioning, recruiting operators, providing advice about site organisation to anticipate operational and maintenance needs.
3D immersive gondola lift simulator
It allows operators to quickly grasp the right everyday practices such as emergency situations, even before the ropeway system is commissioned. The immersive technology means learning is 10 times faster and more efficient.
Since 2016, bodies such as the French association of ski areas, AFPA and the Vaucanson technical college have been using POMA teaching materials to deliver their courses on ropeway transport systems.
Depuis 2016 des organismes tels que l’association des Domaines Skiables de France, l’AFPA et le lycée professionnel de Vaucanson s’appuient sur les outils pédagogiques POMA pour délivrer leurs formations dans le transport par câble
They talk about it
UPILOT® is my favourite training tool! I am a facilitator, and I just guide the learners because they are following a self-training approach, with fun and interactive tools at their disposal, e-learning courses and procedure coaches in a 3D environment that allows participants to almost fully memorise their working environment.
They talk about it
Today, thanks to our network of qualified trainers, our training offer is growing! We try to find the right profile for the country where the ropeway system is installed. A service that is growing and that works very well based on the exchange of skills and knowledge.

The Compagnie du Mont-Blanc uses UPILOT® to complement the in-situ training of its employees. The 3D simulator allows training without shutting down a system, and thus offers greater flexibility in training. The teams work in a less stressful, more comfortable environment. It is a perfect example of what digital technology can contribute to the operational aspect: teaching, peace of mind and autonomy
