The project

The town of Lianshi, in the Guizhou province, wanted to move towards mountain tourism. This is how Meihuashan International Ski Resort was created in the area above the city, based on a year-round offer, combining winter sports with the creation of a ski resort, and outdoor sports activities.

POMA then accompanied the economic transformation of Lianshi by constructing two “Meihuashan Lift” gondola lifts of nearly 10km, which now link the former mining town with the mountain and carry 1,500 passengers per hour. At the middle station, visitors can enjoy a visit to the panoramic restaurant, a stone’s throw from the new gondola lift.

The second section then takes them to the skiing area, the hotels and the resort's boutiques. New leisure activities on the city's doorstep, in just minutes.

With a quieter, more energy-efficient DirectDrive® motor, the two Meihuashan gondola lifts help to provide softer and more sustainable mobility in the valley.
