The project

Northern Caucasus Resorts is one of the most ambitious projects in the Russian ski sector. The Arkhyz resort, created in 2011, is one of them.

After equipping the south slope of the Arkhyz resort with several ropeways including a 4-seater fixed chairlift, an 8-seater gondola and a 6-seater hood chairlift, NCR turned to retrofitting the heart of the resort, using an architecture that favours noble materials such as stone and wood, before undertaking the development of the north slope for which POMA built a gondola lift in three sections in the northern part of the Arkhyz skiing area, marking a major milestone in the resort's skiing experience.

This new link within the resort, up to a final altitude of 2505 m, opens access to new slopes traced in the snow-covered valleys or directly in the forest.

Intra and

peri-urban connection

The gondola lift crosses the whole of the level section of the resort and reaches the snowy peaks of the Arkhyz skiing area. Within the skiing area, the first part stretches the flat residential village; it is followed by two large sections taken to reach the final altitude of 2,505 metres.

Comfort

and design

The 10-seater cabins are comfortable for the village’s pedestrian passengers and skiers… The cabins are aesthetically pleasing and feature external lighting that will create magnificent movements of light at night in the ski resort.
