Les Grangettes Gondola Lift

The Les 3 Vallées company entrusted POMA with the construction of the new emblematic gondola lift of Les Grangettes. A true link between Courchevel Village and Courchevel 1850, the gondola lift is operated every day until 11 pm. It is a busy link and has opened the door to peri-urban rope transport in the mountains.

More about

The project

At Courchevel, the Les 3 Vallées Company is organising major work to restructure and retrofit its ropeway equipment. After the installation of the new Ariondaz gondola lift in 2017, Les 3 Vallées renewed its confidence in POMA for the construction of the emblematic new gondola lift at Les Grangettes.

The new gondola lift was long awaited by Courchevel Village because the previous 43-year-old ropeway no longer met expectations in terms of comfort, safety and access. In addition to serving as the urban link between Courchevel Village and Courchevel 1850, the Les Grangettes gondola lift also provides a green trip to the slopes and a free sledge run that is lit up in the evenings.

The busy link and opened the door to ropeway peri-urban mobility in Courchevel, joined the following year by a second ropeway link, the Le Praz gondola lift.

Design

To do this exceptional site justice, the focus was placed on design and ride comfort. By choosing 40 Evo Diamond 10-seater cabins with a dark and elegant design, lit by LEDS powered by solar panels, Courchevel became the first resort in France to open such an installation.

Intra-resort

link

The Grangettes gondola is a genuine link between Courchevel Village and Courchevel 1850 for all holidaymakers, skiers and seasonal workers, the gondola lift is operated daily until 11 pm. A new peri-urban link, the Le Praz gondola lift, has enhanced the resort’s offer of soft mobility a few hundred metres away.

A Station at

La Croisette

The top station is “La Croisette”. This way, skiers arriving from Courchevel Village can easily reach the rest of the skiing area. For pedestrians, unloading in the heart of the Galerie de la Croisette allows easy access to all the commercial and leisure areas of the Courchevel 1850 resort.
