POMA STRENGTHENS ITS INDUSTRIAL ORGANIZATION BY MERGING WITH POMA SAVOIE AND POMA MONT-BLANC

A new step forward

As it approaches its 90th anniversary, the Isère-based company is taking a new step forward by integrating its industrial production activities into a unified organization, rooted in the regions and focused on sustainable performance.

The merger of POMA with its long-standing subsidiaries POMA Savoie and POMA Mont-Blanc, effective February 1, 2026, marks a turning point in the group’s industrial strategy. POMA, the global leader in cable transport, is gradually reintegrating its production activities within a unified legal structure to improve operational consistency, organizational clarity, and the attractiveness of industrial professions.

Vertical reintegration

for greater efficiency

POMA is changing its organization to strengthen its local presence and respond to new mobility challenges. POMA Savoie (formerly SACMI), dedicated to mechanical production, and POMA Mont-Blanc (formerly SEMER), specializing in control systems, electrical equipment, and automation, are now integrated into a unified structure under the POMA brand. Alongside its subsidiaries SIGMA, which designs and manufactures cabins, and COMAG, an expert in installation and maintenance, the group is consolidating its complete control of the value chain.

From project engineering to equipment manufacturing, through to operation and maintenance services, POMA offers tailor-made customer support and reaffirms its position as the partner of choice in short-circuit cable transport from the heart of the French Alps.

A territorial foundation

and major investments

With four industrial sites in Auvergne Rhône-Alpes, 100,000 m² of production space, and a network of mainly French subcontractors, POMA is investing in a state-of-the-art logistics platform and a unique full-scale gondola test bench in Voreppe. This development aims to secure jobs, skills, and local industrial expertise while guaranteeing performance, quality of service, and future prospects, both in France and internationally, where the group has nearly 8,000 installations.
