The 6th Metrocable line in Medellin
The Medellín Metrocable opened its 6th gondola lift line, "Line P", on 10 June 2021, pursuing the development of this sustainable public transport network, which has been a global model for the past 15 years.
The pioneering city of Medellín set the standard for a new model of urban mobility by integrating a gondola lift into its public transport network in 2004: a world first which became an international benchmark with 5 lines in operation, able to accommodate nearly 220,000 passengers per day over 14 kilometres of lines.

In Toulouse, on 28 May 2021, in the presence of mayor Jean-Luc Moudenc, Tisséo unveiled the cabin of Téléo, Toulouse’s future urban aerial tramway. Over the next few weeks, Sigma’s 34-seat Symphony cabin will be on display in the famous Place du Capitole.

The inclined elevator of the Charles de Gaulle-Étoile station, in the heart of western Paris, was installed to facilitate the connection between the stations of metro lines 1 and 6 and the RER A regional express network line station, the central thoroughfare for transport in Paris, connecting east to west in the Paris region.

Automated People Mover – APM
An APM, Automated People Mover, is a fully automatic system without drivers and usually moves along on a flat plane, which differentiates it from funicular railways. Unlike with automotive vehicles, the machinery and motor equipment are located remotely thanks to the rope. Thus, the APM is often described as “light metro” technology, in the sense that the infrastructure (viaduct, track structure, etc.) and installation are lighter and faster.

The longest urban cable car in France and Europe, Téleo, has been inaugurated in Toulouse. Fast and eco-responsible, the aerial line covers 3 kilometers in about ten minutes and serves one of the city's major activity areas, perfectly interconnected with its transportation network.

In order to improve the flow of daily traffic between Duran and Guayaquil, Ecuador's economic capital, and offer an alternative solution for crossing the estuary, the local authorities have opted for ropeway transportation.

POMA carried out the special inspection of the iconic funicular railway in Lyon. During the inspection, its carriers as well as the drive station were completely renovated and upgraded in SIGMA's workshops, according to the SYTRAL guidelines aimed at “providing users with an even greater level of comfort, while preserving the line’s historic heritage”.

Maokong
The Maokong gondola lift is located in a historic area of the Taiwanese capital, connecting Taipei Zoo and Maokong. It is one of the largest in the world, spanning four kilometres. Ensuring the synchronisation of its 5 sections and the interconnection of its 6 stations constituted a true technological challenge.

Miami International Airport inaugurated its two APMs in 2016 and 2017. The two APM trains travel 375 m and carry up to 12,000 passengers per hour between the main terminal and terminal E.

The Bastille aerial ropeway provides access to a 19th-century military fort overlooking the town of Grenoble from 264 metres above and standing at an altitude of 476 metres on the edge of the Chartreuse mountain foothills. More than 8,000 passengers will board the cabins of the Téléo tricable ropeway every day. Part of the Toulouse Agglomeration’s transport network, it crosses a river and travels over a hill to link three major hubs of activity in the south of Toulouse: the University Cancer Institute, Rangueil Hospital and Paul Sabatier University.

This urban gondola lift incorporated into a public transport system was a world first and quickly became a model for many large cities in terms of sustainable transportation and social inclusion. With the Metrocable, the city was gradually transformed, connecting the different neighbourhoods and their inhabitants.

In 2007, Metrocable’s second line initiated the urbanisation of an area to the west of the city. Unlike its predecessor, line K, the objective of commissioning line J was to support urban development in that area, rather than to bring the highly populated neighbourhood out of any kind of isolation.
