Laying of the foundation stone for gondola lift on La Réunion

On Friday, 20 September, the municipal association CINOR (Communauté Intercommuncale Du Nord de la Réunion) and the FILAO-Group (Atelier Architectes, POMA and Egis) have celebrated the beginning of the constructions works for this project on La Réunion. The first urban ropeway on the island will streamline the traffic, particularly dense today, and encourage more sustainable modes of travel.

Located at the foot of Mont Blanc, Saint-Gervais-les-Bains is increasingly focusing on sustainable mobility solutions. The Le Valléen 10-seater gondola lift, whose bottom station is directly linked to the du Fayet train station, offers a fast, multimodal link to the center of Saint-Gervais. The new lift is already very popular with students, but is also an ideal solution for tourists travelling to Saint-Gervais by train from Paris or London.

In Santo Domingo capital, inauguration of the POMA’s 2nd urban cable car line

A second urban cable car line has been inaugurated in Santo Domingo. The 4-kilometre cable car line connects the city centre and the western outskirts of the capital with the city's transport network. For the first time in the world, a cable car line is operating at a speed of 7m/s in an urban environment !

Fourvière

POMA carried out the special inspection of the iconic funicular railway in Lyon. During the inspection, its carriers as well as the drive station were completely renovated and upgraded in SIGMA's workshops, according to the SYTRAL guidelines aimed at “providing users with an even greater level of comfort, while preserving the line’s historic heritage”.

An emblematic feature of the valley for more than 30 years, the funicular railway of Saint Maurice was one of the first elevators in the Alps. It was renovated in 2019. A pioneer in multimodal travel, Bourg Saint Maurice offers thousands of skiers and daily users a direct link between the skiing area of Les Arcs and the railway network in just 7 minutes.

The industrial ropeway, which is almost 2 km long, transports materials, crossing the Isère, a 6-lane motorway and with a significant difference in elevation on the slopes of the Vercors Massif to the cement works of Saint-Egrève.

Quadran

POMA-Leitwind handled the delivery, installation and maintenance of six 1.65 MW Hh48 class A LTW80 wind turbines in Guadeloupe. These machines replace 20 wind turbines installed in the early 2000s on the site of Fonds Caraïbes in Guadeloupe, the island of the French West Indies. The new wind turbines are designed to withstand cyclones.
