POMA—French leader in urban ropeway transportation—and their local partner J. Fortuna have just signed a 61 million euro contract for the construction of an urban gondola lift in Santo Domingo, capital of the Dominican Republic. This aerial tramway will assure an easy and rapid connection between the centre and the north-east of the city by flying over the meandering Ozama River twice.

In Santo Domingo, the President of the Dominican Republic Danilo Medina has inaugurated the first urban gondola lift in the Caribbean built by POMA.
