SIGMA
For more than 50 years, this long-standing subsidiary of POMA has specialised in the design, manufacture and final assembly of cabins for passenger transport.
SIGMA’s know-how extends beyond a standard product catalogue. The company also designs and manufactures tailor-made cabins for the POMA Group’s special projects such as funiculars, APMs and observation wheel capsules.

SEMER, POMA’s subsidiary, specialises in the engineering and manufacturing of electrical equipment and industrial automation for ropeway transport systems. It is recognised worldwide for its know-how in electrical engineering, safety-instrumented systems, process control and industrial automation.

Santiago – Dominican Republic
The Dominican government has set up the SITS (Santiago Integrated Transport System) to support urban development in the country’s second-largest city, Santiago de los Caballeros. A soft and sustainable mobility service accessible to all is at the heart of the project and will include a monorail, bicycles, electric buses and a nearly 4 km long 12-seater gondola lift.

The city of Santo Domingo inaugurates its new urban aerial tramway line, the fastest in the world. The monocable system criss-crosses the sky over a 4.2-km stretch and serves four stations, offering a perfect soft mobility solution between the city centre and the suburbs.

In Santo Domingo capital, inauguration of the POMA’s 2nd urban cable car line
A second urban cable car line has been inaugurated in Santo Domingo. The 4-kilometre cable car line connects the city centre and the western outskirts of the capital with the city's transport network. For the first time in the world, a cable car line is operating at a speed of 7m/s in an urban environment !

The longest urban cable car in France and Europe, Téleo, has been inaugurated in Toulouse. Fast and eco-responsible, the aerial line covers 3 kilometers in about ten minutes and serves one of the city's major activity areas, perfectly interconnected with its transportation network.

Funiflaine, a new valley lift enhancing quality of life in the region
At the heart of the Grand Massif Resort, the new Funiflaine valley lift will usher in a whole new approach to mobility in mountain areas while cutting road traffic, in line with the region’s sustainable development policy. Connecting the valley to the ski resort of Flaine, the future aerial tramway will be used to carry people and their luggage, as well as supplies for shops and hotels in the skiing area.

In Toulouse, on 28 May 2021, in the presence of mayor Jean-Luc Moudenc, Tisséo unveiled the cabin of Téléo, Toulouse’s future urban aerial tramway. Over the next few weeks, Sigma’s 34-seat Symphony cabin will be on display in the famous Place du Capitole.

Citadel of Namur gondola lift

In order to improve the flow of daily traffic between Duran and Guayaquil, Ecuador's economic capital, and offer an alternative solution for crossing the estuary, the local authorities have opted for ropeway transportation.
Ecuador’s first urban gondola lift links Duran and Guayaquil, providing fast, smooth travel throughout the transport network for 40,000 passengers a day.

Leitner Poma of America, a long-standing partner of the Alpine Meadows ski resort, replaced the 1996 Hot Wheels fixed-grip chairlift this year with a new higher-performance 4-seater detachable chairlift, and took the opportunity to improve the route.

Each day, limestone was transported to the cement plant of Secil Supremo Cimentos by hundreds of trucks, with a huge environmental impact: gas emissions, damage to the road, material spills. The loads are now carried via a FlyingBelt®, a transport solution with a very low environmental impact that is perfectly adapted to topographic constraints.

POMA carried out the special inspection of the iconic funicular railway in Lyon. During the inspection, its carriers as well as the drive station were completely renovated and upgraded in SIGMA's workshops, according to the SYTRAL guidelines aimed at “providing users with an even greater level of comfort, while preserving the line’s historic heritage”.

Apiaï
Equipped with 290 buckets, this 10-kilometre-long rope line transports 9,000 tonnes of limestone daily to the cement plant of the city of Apiai, in the state of São Paulo. This quiet, eco-friendly solution helps preserve the natural site.

This Tuesday, october 6, 2020, the inhabitants of Namur were able to observe from the docks of the Sambre river the helicopter transportation of the pylons on the esplanade of the Citadel, the arrival station of the future tourist gondola lift of the Walloon capital.

Yeosu Cablecar
Compared to the construction of a third bridge, the Yeosu gondola lift was the ideal solution to connect the island of Doslando to the mainland. Discreet, comfortable, fast and environmentally friendly, the gondola lift is perfectly suited to the city's transportation needs.
This original voyage over the Namhae Sea also quickly won over the passengers, and the Yeosu gondola lift quickly became a major attraction in the area.

Prodains Express
The tri-cable peri-urban aerial ropeway from Morzine to Avoriaz replaces the old aerial ropeway installed in 1963. It embodies the combination of eco-responsible urban travel and the mountain world.

Gudauri Kobi
The valley elevator between Gudauri and the city of Kobi is made up of three gondola lifts and makes snow-covered areas accessible without the constraints of the road traffic conditions, which would frequently block access to Kobi.

With the installation of this ultra-modern aerial tramway, POMA has provided New Yorkers with the most advanced technology in urban ropeway transportation.
