POMA offers a high-performance modular design solution that can be integrated to a global transport network with its constraints using angle stations and rope loops of different lengths, while remaining 100% synchronised for optimal continuity of service.

The different configurations of the urban gondola lift satisfy the requirements of locations in the heart of cities. They blend into the skyline and require little ground space. They include energy options that promote sustainable mobility with reduced noise emissions and provide services for passengers. Roller batteries designed for intensive use,
with specially adapted maintenance

LCI roller batteries are designed for 30 years in operation, with appropriate maintenance for intensive use. R&D has reduced the pressure on the rings, thus further extending the life of the roller battery pins. The maintenance plan is therefore lighter and enables the pins to be reused for 30 years of service.

Overhead and underground
communication lines

Very long spans of communication lines can be problematic in operation. POMA recommends underground solutions whenever possible, but we have developed communication solutions for when the terrain is unsuitable, using carrying ropes for spans of over 600 m.

The load simulation system comes as standard with POMA. The need to actually load the ropeway to perform a dynamic test is now a thing of the past. Switch your safety line
to automatic mode to ensure availability

The double safety line ensures continuity of operation. If a false positive is detected, safety line 1 automatically switches to Monitoring 2 within a fraction of a second, without slowing or stopping the line as is the case when manually switched. Technicians can intervene without disrupting the transport network, and system availability is not affected.

An ultra-compact solution for
a station requiring very little space

POMA offers solutions for ultra-compact stations. It is possible to configure a 10-seater gondola lift for small spaces (under 20 m in length) or for a narrow layout. Our compact solutions make it possible for 10- and 12-seater cabins to travel through minimal spaces, at a speed of 4 to 6 m/s.

the Cable Positioning System

The Cable Positioning System (CPS) technology is capable of providing information about the position of the rope, detecting the initiation of a movement in a fraction of a second, even before the movement takes place. Coupled in a double line with conventional technology, the CPS is an indispensable tool for peace of mind on higher-risk installations. In addition to its rope-location function, it has enabled POMA to develop the latest generation of roller batteries that require no greasing, such as the LP20 EVO.

Each system is equipped with a standard solution including a main hydraulic motor and a backup. POMA’s “double backup” device offers an additional solution for bringing a carrier back to the station, and total peace of mind.

This detachable surface lift is a true part of POMA’s history since Jean Pomagalski invented the world’s first system, installed in 1936 at the Alpe d’Huez (France).
This detachable surface lift can be adapated and installed as close as possible to the shape of the ski slopes, thanks to its possibility of having angles in line. It is also popular for avoiding to have towhangers runing empty on line, which is really usefull out of operation with a empty line cable for snow grooming or wind case. The system has become a ski-area essential. There are thousands of POMA installations all over the world, especially in North America where it is still called the “POMALIFT”. It has also been installed in indoor ski domes over the past few years.

Sharing a common technological platform with the POMA detachable gondola lift, it has enhanced reliability and the ability to operate in all weather, even in mountain conditions that can sometimes be demanding: snow, ice and wind, at altitudes of over 3000 m.
The configuration of the POMA detachable chairlift ensures efficient loading and unloading at low speed, 0.8 m/s, and a broad selection of chairs is available for 4 to 8 passengers, including bubble chairs.
As for the POMA detachable gondola lifts, it can be equipped with a DirectDrive® motor, track storage or an annexed garage for the most extreme climates.

With the chair configurator, it is possible to choose the level of comfort: opt for premium chairs, add a U-block system or an automatic safety bar, choose the colour of the chairs and their upholstery, etc. POMA studies the stations and lines accordingly to create the project of your choice.

The load simulation system comes as standard with POMA. The need to actually load the ropeway to perform a dynamic test is now a thing of the past. All of our ropeways are equipped with a load simulation function which can check correct performance, after working on the brakes in particular. It saves time and reduces risks for technicians, and so ensures effective maintenance.

Switch your safety line
to automatic mode
to ensure availability

The double safety line ensures continuity of operation. If a false positive is detected, safety line 1 automatically switches to Monitoring 2 within a fraction of a second, without slowing or stopping the line as is the case when manually switched. Technicians can intervene without disrupting the transport network, and system availability is not affected.

LCI roller batteries are designed for 30 years in operation, with appropriate maintenance for intensive use. R&D has reduced the pressure on the rings, thus further extending the life of the roller battery pins. The maintenance plan is therefore lighter and enables the pins to be reused for 30 years of service.
